Lightspeed Product Sync
How Lightspeed products map to Ramp SKUs
Overview
This article describes how product data is retrieved from Lightspeed and mapped to Ramp SKUs.
Sync Behaviour
Lightspeed has three product types: Standard, Variant, and Composite.
- Standard products sync as a single SKU, as normal.
- Variant products are split into individual SKUs. Each variant becomes its own SKU, and SKUs are not linked to each other.
- Composite products are not supported.
Variant Conversion
Each variant is converted into its own SKU. SKUs are not linked to each other.
For example, this would be how a variant product is synced into Ramp.
In Shopify:
- Product: Shirt
- Variants: Size + Colour
In Ramp:
-
Shirt | Small / Black
-
Shirt | Small / White
-
Shirt | Medium / Black
-
Etc...
Sync Filtering
Non-Inventoried Products
By default, products that are not set up to track inventory in Lightspeed will not sync.
Deleted Products
By default, deleted products in Lightspeed will not sync.
Active/Inactive Products
All active and inactive products in Lightspeed will sync.
Default Data Mapping
| Lightspeed Property | Ramp Property | Notes |
| id | External Reference | |
| variant_name | Item Code | Lightspeed's own combined product + variant name (e.g. "Shirt - Small / Black") |
| Barcode number | This is a Ramp generated barcode, unless the Shopify item uses a GS1 barcode | |
| - | Company Prefix | Company prefix to be used with the barcode |
| - | Item reference | Ramp-generated, used with the barcode |
| variant_name | Name | Same source field as Item Code |
| sku | Sku Number | |
| description | Description | Truncated to 1000 characters if longer |
| price_including_tax | Unit Cost |
Note: additional fields (e.g. Product Category, Brand, Type) can be mapped into a SKU's extended properties, but which fields are mapped is configured for each specific integration insatnce - it isn't a fixed default for every account.
