SKU Printing involves a straightforward process to generate tags for a specific product. This method of printing allows the user to easily print multiple tags for one product. There are two main functions that allow users to print out RFID labels as part of an order:
- Print Order Tags
- Print and Create Order Items
Both print functions allow the user to:
- View an Order.
- Print off a select number of order lines, or print the entire order.
- Adjust the information that may be printed on the label, based on the selected template.
- Complete the order once printing is complete.
However, there is a main difference between the two functions, and the one that is chosen is
dependent on the end result once the RFID labels have been printed.
- Print Order Tags will print and encode the RFID labels based on the order, but the printed RFID labels will NOT be automatically added into the system as available
- The benefits of this method are to allow users to print out an order and usestock. only the tags necessary when applying labels to stock.
- Any unused labels can simply be physically disposed and only applied tags will appear as stock.
-
- The main drawback of this method is that the RFID labels are not considered as part of stock until they have been scanned as part of a stocktake, a stock adjustment, or scanned and received against the same order via a handheld.
- Recommended use cases for this function include printing and delivering the RFID labels to suppliers so that suppliers can apply the labels at source.
- Once tagged at source, the user can then receive the tagged product and verify the number of received stock via the RFID handheld.
- Print and Create Order Items will print and encode the RFID labels based on the order AND printed RFID labels will be automatically added into the system as available stock.
- The benefits of this method are to allow users to print out an order and have each label represent a physical stock item.
- The main drawback of this method is that every printed tag represents a physical stock item and so additional RFID tags will need to be disposed off physically and digitally removed so that stock levels reflect only applied RFID labels.
- Recommended use cases for this function include printing and applying the RFID labels to incoming product so that they appear as stock immediately.
