Purchase Order Printing enables users to print purchase orders directly from the database.
There are two main functions that allow users to print out RFID labels as part of an order:
- Order Printing
- Order Printing and Creating
Both print functions allow the user to:
- View an Order.
- Print off a select number of order lines, or print the entire order.
- Adjust the information that may be printed on the label, based on the selected template.
- Complete the order once printing is complete.
However, there is a main difference between the two functions, and the one that is chosen is
dependent on the end result once the RFID labels have been printed.
- Order Printing will print and encode the RFID labels based on the order, but the printed RFID labels will NOT be automatically added into the system as available.
- The benefits of this method are to allow users to print out an order and use only the tags necessary when applying labels to stock. Any unused labels can simply be disposed of.
-
- The main drawback is that the RFID labels are not considered as part of stock until they have been scanned for the order using the handheld (or scanned for a stocktake)
- If you are printing out RFID labels to deliver to suppliers, or you will be printing out RFID labels in advance, it is recommended to use this method. This prevents your stock being inaccurate.
- Order Printing and Creating will print and encode the RFID labels based on the order AND printed RFID labels will be automatically added into the system as available stock.
- The benefits of this method are to allow users to print out an order and it be automatically added to stock, without having to scan the order as well.
- The main drawback of this method is that every printed tag represents a physical stock item and so additional RFID tags will need to be disposed of and removed manually on Ramp's system.
- If you are printing out tags to directly apply to incoming stock, it is recommended to use this method so that you don't double up on processes.
