Understanding the settings of the Ramp Retail Application
The Settings section allows the user to customize and adjust the configuration of the application and how it behaves in certain functions.
Application Settings
Server |
Displays the current server URL that the application is connected to. This can be adjusted by logging out and accessing the server settings on the main login page. |
Hardware Key | Displays the current hardware key of the device that the application is running on. This is not user-definable. |
Device Name |
Displays the current name of the device that the application is running on. This is not user-definable. |
License |
Displays whether the device that the application is running on has a valid license. If the device is not registered, the user will be unable to use any RFID functionality. Pressing Register or Unregister will register or unregister the license respectively. |
Default Place | Allows the user to set the default location of the application. The chosen place will have all functionality occur at the selected location unless otherwise specified. |
Auto Login | Toggles whether the application will automatically log in or not using the most recent log-in details |
Item Settings
Show Item Person | Toggles visibility on the Item Person button whilst viewing an item. |
Show Description | Toggles visibility on the Description field whilst viewing an item. |
Show Asset Number | Toggles visibility on the Asset Number field whilst viewing an item. |
Show Unit Cost | Toggles visibility on the Unit Cost field whilst viewing an item. |
Show Image | Toggles visibility on the Image whilst viewing an item. |
Prompt before adding to inventory | Toggles whether the user will be prompted before adding a new item to the inventory. |
Move Item to Default Place | Allows the user to select whether an item will be moved to the default place when created. |
Select Reason when Moving | Sets whether a reason must be set when moving an item between places. |
Select Person when Moving | Sets whether a person must be specified when moving an item between places. |
Search Options |
Allows the user to select and determine which fields can be used to search for an item. Selecting multiple fields will increase the likelihood of searching for the correct item based on different criteria but may introduce performance issues. |
Stocktake Settings
Enable SKU Groups | Toggles the option to perform SKU Group/Partial SKU stocktakes. |
Sub-Locations Only |
Toggles the option to start stocktakes at child locations only. If this option is on, users will be unable to start a stocktake at their currently set default place. |
Blind Stocktakes |
Toggles the option to perform a blind stocktake. Blind stocktakes will not show how much stock should be present and will only display what has been scanned during the stocktake. |
Notify when Processing is Complete | Toggles the option to have a notification displayed when a stocktake has been processed by Ramp upon uploading. |
Tag Sound On |
Allows the user to select the criteria on when a sound is made whilst scanning a tag.

High Read Power | The user can specify the RFID power setting for the High-Power preset. |
Low Read Power | The user can specify the RFID power setting for the Low-Power preset. |
