This guide applies to the depots that have access to the resources to perform in-house level 1 repairs.
There are multiple repairs that can be done in-house; RFID Module Cleaning and Replacement, RFID Clip Replacement, Trigger Repairs and Screen Protector Replacement.
RFID Module Cleaning
If a handheld scanner is experiencing RFID scanning issues, it is possible that the contacts between the device and the RFID module are damaged or interrupted. To address this issue, you can clean the contacts. Please refer to the steps outlined in the Cleaning the C72 UHF Module Video. If cleaning the contacts does not resolve the RFID scanning issues, replacing the RFID module may be necessary.
RFID Module Replacement
If a handheld scanner is still unable to scan RFID even after cleaning the module, it is possible that the RFID module is damaged and requires replacement. Refer to the steps outlined in the Replacing the C72 UHF Module and Clip Video. If the replacement does not resolve the issue, please reach out to Ramp Support for further assistance and consider sending in your device for repairs that may involve internal replacement parts.
Trigger Repairs
One common issue that may arise is the trigger becoming jammed within the trigger body. To address this, please refer to the steps outlined in the Replacing the C72 Trigger Video. If the trigger is broken, unrepairable, or missing parts, a replacement trigger will be necessary.
Screen Protector Replacement
To replace a screen protector, it is essential if the current one is cracked or missing. Follow the instructions in the C72 Screen Protector Replacement Video. If the existing screen protector is cracked, handle it with care when removing it and dispose of it promptly to prevent any glass shards from causing harm.
If you encounter any issues while performing any of these repairs or replacements please contact Ramp Support for assistance.
