Shopify Purchase Order Sync

Understanding the Purchase Order Sync

Shopify does not provide native purchase order functionality. Purchase orders are managed through the Stocky application.

Stocky purchase orders are used to represent inbound stock from suppliers. In Ramp, inbound orders are used to represent incoming stock. The integration maintains alignment between purchase order data in Stocky and inbound order data in Ramp.

Integration Flow

The integration retrieves purchase order data from Stocky and maps it to Ramp’s internal inbound order properties. This is handled through an automated, multi-step sync process that runs on a regular schedule.

At each sync interval, Ramp checks Stocky for any changes to purchase orders since the last successful sync.

  • When new purchase orders are detected, Ramp imports the purchase order number, receiving location, and ordered products, and recreates the purchase order as an inbound order in Ramp.

  • When existing purchase orders are updated in Stocky, Ramp applies those changes to the corresponding inbound order in Ramp.

🗒️Purchase orders deleted in Stocky are not removed from Ramp.

🗒️Once a purchase order is completed in Ramp, it becomes read-only and can no longer be updated through the integration.

Sync Frequency

The integration syncs purchase orders frequently, typically every 5-10 minutes. The exact interval can be customized based on your business needs.
