Shopify Purchase Order Sync
Understanding the Purchase Order Sync
Shopify does not natively support Purchase Order functionality, instead the Stocky plugin must be used to manage these orders. Purchase Orders (POs) in Stocky are used to manage and track incoming stock from suppliers. Similarly, Ramp uses inbound orders to track and manage incoming stock. The integration ensures that purchase order data is consistent across both systems.
Integration Flow
The integration pulls purchase order data and maps it to our internal properties. Pulling purchase order data from Stocky is a multi step process.
Ramp checks for updates automatically at set intervals (see next section for more information).
- Ramp polls Stocky for any changes to POs (Purchase Orders) since the most recent check.
- If there are any new POs, Ramp will pull in the PO number, location to receive stock, and the products ordered. The PO will be recreated in Orders.
- If there are any updates to existing POs, then Ramp will update the corresponding order.
POs that are deleted in Stocky are not deleted in Ramp's system. Additionally, if a PO is completed in Ramp's system, then it can't be edited and so it won't be updated.
Sync Frequency
The integration syncs purchase orders frequently, typically every 5-10 minutes. The exact interval can be customised based on your business needs.
