In the Ramp Web app, users can easily update critical product details such as SKU, name, image or icon, barcode, SKU type, company prefix, quantity, template, and encoding type. Whether you’re introducing new products, making adjustments to existing ones, or standardizing your inventory data, the ability to modify these fields directly within the app provides a streamlined approach to inventory management.
This article focuses on the manual entry option for updating products in the Ramp Web app. Manual entry allows users to input and edit product details one at a time, which is ideal for small-scale updates or when making specific adjustments to individual products. Another option available is product file entry, which enables bulk updates by uploading a file containing the product data. Each method offers flexibility, depending on the scale and nature of the updates needed.
Make sure to have your company prefix ready when adding or editing a product. Using an incorrect company prefix may lead to errors when printing and scanning tags.
How to Add to the Product Catalogue
- Open and log into Ramp Web and navigate to Manage Templates and then SKUs in the side menu.
- To add a product click Add Sku.
- Input all the product details, making sure to choose the SKU type, encoding type, and item template from the dropdown menus. Once you've chosen the item template, proceed to select the SKU properties from the menu below.
- After completing the product details, click on Create to include the product in the product catalogue, or Cancel to exit without adding it.
- Once created, the product will appear in your product library and is ready to be printed and scanned.
How to Edit and Update an Existing Product in the Product Library
- Open and log into Ramp Web and navigate to Manage Templates and then SKUs in the side menu.
- Locate the product you wish to update by applying filters to each column through the input of specific values. You can also organize each column by clicking on the small up and down arrows next to the column titles. Clear any filters or sorts by using the clear buttons located at the top right of the screen.
- After identifying the product you want to update, simply click View next to the product to update it.
- Upon selecting the product, a page will display the product details. Click on Edit SKU to make updates.
- Make the necessary changes in the fields and click Update to apply the edits to the product, or Cancel to discard the changes and return without saving them.
- A small green banner confirming that your edits have been saved will appear in the top right corner of the screen. If this banner does not appear there may be required fields left empty in the product's details or there was an error saving the edits.
