Understanding Ramp Secure
How RFID checkout validation and entrance security work together to prevent theft
Overview
Ramp Secure combines RFID product tagging with automated exit security to reduce theft and streamline store operations. The system uses two components:
-
AdvanPay-120 POS RFID Reader — securely deactivates RFID tags at checkout
-
AdvanSafe-200 Entrance Security — detects unpaid items at store exits
This system verifies purchased items, alerts staff to unpaid goods, and provides reporting for loss-prevention analysis.
How the System Works
-
Customer checks out
-
Items are scanned through the retail POS system.
-
RFID tags are brought within close range of the AdvanPay-120 POS reader to deactivate.
-
-
Tags become “safe-to-exit”
-
Once deactivated, tags will not trigger the store security field.
- Deactivated tags will need to be reactivated by the POS reader if returned.
-
-
Unpaid items trigger alerts
-
Active tags near the AdvanSafe-200 gateway trigger a visual and audible alarm.
-
Event logs record the relevant information for later review.
-
-
Reporting
-
The Ramp Web Portal enables access to data on stolen items. This can be viewed on the portal or exported for analysis.
-
Key Benefits
Advantages
