Understanding Ramp Secure

Overview

Ramp Secure combines RFID product tagging with automated exit security to reduce theft and streamline store operations. The system uses two components:

• AdvanPay-120 POS RFID Reader — securely deactivates RFID tags at checkout

• AdvanSafe-200 Entrance Security — detects unpaid items at store exits

This system verifies purchased items, alerts staff to unpaid goods, and provides reporting for loss-prevention analysis.

How the System Works

1. Customer checks out

   • Items are scanned through the retail POS system.

   • RFID tags are brought within close range of the AdvanPay-120 POS reader to deactivate.

2. Tags become “safe-to-exit”

   • Once deactivated, tags will not trigger the store security field.

   • Deactivated tags will need to be reactivated by the POS reader if returned.

3. Unpaid items trigger alerts

   • Active tags near the AdvanSafe-200 gateway trigger a visual and audible alarm.

   • Event logs record the relevant information for later review.

4. Reporting

   • The Ramp Web Portal enables access to data on stolen items. This can be viewed on the portal or exported for analysis.
