How to Perform a Transfer With Shopify

This article covers how to create, edit, and use Shopify Transfers with Ramp.

Overview

The Shopify Transfers integration connects Shopify’s built-in transfers with Ramp, allowing inventory movements between locations to automatically appear in Ramp for tracking, printing, and scanning.

Previously, transfers for Shopify were managed through Stocky. Stocky Transfers was deprecated in 2025 and have been moved to Shopify Admin.

How Transfers Sync

Refer to Shopify Transfers Sync for details of  transfers are synced.

Creating a Transfer

1. In Shopify Admin, go to Products -> Transfers

2. Click on Create Transfer.

3. Set the origin and destination.

4. Add the products and their quantities.

Once a Transfer order has been set as Ready to Ship, the Origin location and the Destination location can no longer be changed.

5. Save the transfer.

The transfer is now saved as a Draft Transfer. At this stage, the transfer is not synced into Ramp's System.

6. Mark the order as Ready to Ship.

7. The transfer will sync with Ramp's System. Any changes made to the transfer will be reflected in Ramp's System. You can now process the transfer as normal in Shopify, including making partial and full shipments to complete the transfer order.

Using the Transfer in Ramp's system

Transfers will appear in Ramp in Orders, as a Transfer Order. They can be used for printing RFID tags and for scanning with the RFID handheld. Changes made in Ramp's system will not be reflected in Shopify, as the data transfer is one-way.

For more information about using a transfer, refer to the below articles.
